About DevaHop

A small tool, built for a real bus stop

DevaHop tracks the Citadel Shuttle in Deva — the little bus that runs between Piața Cetății and the Citadel. There's no live GPS feed for it, so DevaHop runs on something simpler: riders reporting what they actually see, in real time, for other riders waiting at the same stops.

How it works

Open DevaHop and pick a direction — to the Citadel, or back to the city.
If you can see the bus, tap a quick report (e.g. "Bus is Leaving Now"). It shows up instantly for everyone else checking that stop.
No account is required. Every device is automatically given a Scout handle — a nickname like "Carpathian Falcon 195" — so reports have a bit of personality without revealing who you are.
The official shuttle schedule is shown too, as a reference point — but live reports are what the app leans on when they're available.

Why it exists

The shuttle doesn't have an official real-time tracker, and the printed schedule is more of a guideline than a guarantee — buses can run early, late, or get bunched up on busy days. DevaHop started as a way to close that gap: a rider checks the app before walking down, instead of guessing.

Community-powered, not official

DevaHop is independent — built and run by a local rider, not the Municipality of Deva or the shuttle operator. It's not affiliated with either, and it doesn't replace the official schedule. It's a companion to it — and it becomes more useful the more riders contribute quick reports.

Scouts welcome

Riders collecting Scout badges for their trips, regulars checking before they leave the house, visitors figuring out the Citadel loop — DevaHop is built to be useful for all of them, no account required.

Optional accounts

Creating an account is entirely optional — DevaHop works fully without one. If you do create one, it adds badges and rankings for frequent reporters on top of the same core reporting you'd get anonymously.
